The body of young Vitória Regina de Sousa was discovered on the afternoon of Wednesday, the 5th, showing “many signs of aggression,” according to the Civil Police. The 17-year-old had been missing since February 26 when she disappeared on her way home from work in Cajamar, in the Greater São Paulo area. Her body was found in a state of decomposition in a wooded area in Cajamar, as reported by the Public Security Secretariat of São Paulo. The police are considering four hypotheses regarding Vitória’s death.
A police officer at the scene of the search informed CNN that the victim’s body had been severely beaten. Vitória worked at a shopping mall and had boarded a bus to return home after work. According to witnesses, she got off the bus in the Ponunduva neighborhood, where she lived. At that location, she noticed a vehicle with four men following her. Witnesses confirmed having seen the vehicle in the area.
